Bio: Christopher Heath
Christopher Heath (Playwright), CEO and co-founder of Agony Productions, is a writer,
actor, and director. He has worked in various theatres in Tulsa, Houston, Las Vegas, and
New York. His favorite roles include Adam in Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, Geoffrey in
Stepping Out, and Barnette in Crimes of the Heart. He has also directed a wide
range of plays, including Sight Unseen, The Arkansaw Bear, and The Serpent.
While attending Sam Houston State University, he created the series, "Night of Experimental
Theatre," which showcased short plays written and produced by faculty and students. For the
series, Christopher wrote and directed several pieces, including Soap Dissed, Stalls,
and Stalls II. His short play, Student Advisory Bored, featured five monologues
that have been performed all across the country, most recently at the HATCH Series in 2000.
Four Quarters marks his New York playwrighting debut. He has also written the plays
...digressions..., Norma, and Out and About. Two of his short screenplays,
Big Boy Two Scoop and Wally and Jesus, were finalists in recent Agony Short
Screenplay Competitions. His other screenwriting includes Club Seal,
Consistent Inconsistencies (WordsFromHere Top 50), and The Ice Cream Papi. He
is also working on producing a book of monologues and poetry.
With Agony Productions, Christopher has helped create and run three short screenplay
competitions, two roundtable discussions on filmmaking, and the Writers in Agony Workshop
Series, which gave writers of all levels the opportunity to learn and utilize techniques
and theories of today's leading experts. He hopes that Agony Productions will be
a place where writers can go to maintain an active role in the production of their work.
