Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) presents
An Agony Productions production
at the 2010 Midtown International Theatre Festival
In Our Own Image is a series of three short plays, all of
which are centered around a common theme. Wally and Jesus is
a humorous exploration of death and our use of religion to deflect
our personal turmoil. Big Boy Two Scoop is a frank
reconciliation of a father and son after the son finally lives up
his father’s dreams. Who Art In is an absurdist look at the
potential consequences of our societal behavior.
Wally and Jesus, as a solo piece, premiered at BRIC in 2004
and was subsequently produced by Emerging Artists at the Fall
EATFest 2005. That production received a positive review from
Michael Wang of Show Business Weekly:
“[The] absurd opening comment is only the beginning, as the three
repeatedly reenact the day Wally’s mother was shot. With each
performance, more information and emotions are revealed about the
nature of the shooting, bringing Wally and Jesus from a
hilarious, bizarre opening to a powerful and sad conclusion.”
